Roll on wednesday when its hand in day, I can order robbie my robo, I sooooooo want it now!

Spent the day doing very little, but its been nice.

Grandma and Grandad had Charley for the night last night which was fab, Steve and I got a pizza and a bottle of wine and just chilled in front of the telly, but it was soooooo nice to be child free for a while, roll on the next time!

Hamster in a wheel

Ever feel like your like is just turning round and round and never slowing, I feel like a hamster in one of those wheels at the moment, going round and round and round and never getting anywhere!

Im soooo fed up with this dissertation, I'm at the point where I dont know what to do with it, I cant see the wood for the trees or the light at the end of the tunnel! Ive done a bit of every section but not enough to call any of it complete. Ive finally given it to dad to read, not sure how much he will understand though, unless you speak childcarers lingo its probably not the easiest of things to get to grips with.

The weekend was lovely sunny and hot again, we went to the theatre with Charley to see the MI Men Live show on sunday, talk about cheap, nasty and tacky, the props were terrible and looked like they had been on tour with them for years, the woman playing the teacher had this really annoying grating voice and it was hot in the theatre which didnt help, but hey who cares, Charley enjoyed it, she wasnt too impressed that she didnt see Mr Tickle, only his arms came onto stage. 'Next time mummy Im going to ask Mr Bump if I can see all of Mr Tickle! Awwwwwwwwwwwww bless her!

I got rid of a load of my dies on ebay this week so now have 1/2 the money for anew craft robo or all of the money for a second hand robo, only problem is that it is the original model but I dont suppose that it really matters which one I get. Decisions, decisions!

Oh hurry up and give me my house back!

Another day of messing around waiting for carpet fitters to arrive then arrive back from lunch and still only have half a wood floor, I guess its getting there though!

Am still feeling really rough with my viral infection and have lots of rashy spots all over my legs and my arms, weird though as there isnt a single one on my stomach! Will pop and see the GP later this week if they are still there though. Im enjoying my week off though, going to get on with my dissertation for certain tomorrow, but am finding it soooo hard to get into! Due date is looming though so I best hurry up!

Been checking out the cc galleries from the weekend on UKS, there is some fab work, might try a few more of the classes this week, I much prefer doing them in my own time rather than to a deadline.

Monday, 28 April 2008

Back to reality with a bump!

Well its monday morning and Ive been told by the doctors not to work this week, so Im about to enjoy my week off!!! lol! Ive a viral infection so Im soooooo sad, because at least now I can work on my dissertation whilst Charlotte is at preschool! She is starting tuesday afternoons now so that will be cooooool!

I finished the cybercrop with 280 points which isnt bad considering I didnt think I would get a chance to do anything for it, 200 of those i gained before i started though! I managed two classes which I will upload tonight when I can get upstairs, we have the carpet people in screeding the floor, so by about 6.30pm/7pm tonight we will be able to walk on it again, problem is they are screeding the downstairs hall which is the main walkway through the house and we can't go anywhere at the moment, Im confined to the lounge and if i want the kitchen I have to walk around the outside of the house and go in through the back garden! Oh what joy, still tomorrow we should have spanking new wood floor up the hallway and then this time next week we will be having the carpet laid up the stairs!!!!!! Hooray the house will sparkle for the first time since we moved in!

Im have started making a book about our house and bought some lovely Heidi Grace papers - a little nirds tale the other week to cover the book with, Im really pleased with how its turning out, I now wish that I have bought the shimelle no place like home class as I think that that would have been fab!

The Cyber Crop is underway

Over on UKS, its frantic over there, but here is calm and collected! Well sort of! Ive done one class and thats it, Ive printed all the PDF's so that I can have a go at them but to be honest, scrappig to a deadline doesnt really do it for me. With precrop tasks etc Ive got 200 points for my team but apart from a couple of layouts Im not likely to get many more. I played bingo last night but all that refreshing gets a bit tedious so was glad when it was over.

I took Charlotte to the park yesterday morning to feed the ducks, there was one little female duck that she named Darling and had to keep feeding and on the way back round the pond we spotted some baby ducklings with their mummy and daddy, she was desperate to take one home and kept asking for one, tried explaining that their mummy would be sad if we took one but she wouldnt have one she was determined to have one till i told her that if she wanted to go get one she would have to get into the pond and swim to one. She then decided that the sandpit in the park was a better option!

Getting there!

Right here are some of the layouts from the Shimelle challenge on UKS that I have completed, I dont want to get all the pages ready because I want to choose papers etc that go with the pics I take on those days.

Can't get my PDF reader going so will get hubby to sort it out later I hope and then perhaps this time Ill take my pics tomorrow and just pretend they were taken today, no one will know will they!!!
Ive taken all my pics for my circle journal and am uploading them as we speak so that I can send them across to Jessops to print out then I can collect them in the morning, no way Im going into town tonight!

Ive been tagged!

Well its cyber crop tonight on UKS and all weekend, not sure how much I will get done but IM hopig to do a little bit! Im off to do my shimelles 25th of every month challenge now Ill post pics later.

Thursday, 24 April 2008

Yay!!! I passed!

Got my last assignment back yesterday, and got 60% which for me is good! Im pleased as i was expecting about 45%.

Ive still got my two circle journal entries to get done this week and finish the other book which is great, the mystery challenge for the cybercrop, cyber crop trading faces challenge, this weeks uks challenge and he cyber crop this weekend! too much to do I feel! Oh and about 6 weeks of ironing - well thats how it feels.

Steve is still working on the decorating, its sooooo time consuming and frustrating, you cant get anywhere in the house, roll on monday when the floor arrives! Another week monday and we will have stair carpet too! Sooooooo excting!
Managed to get the week 2 cybercrop challenge complete from UKS, there was a sketch to follw and this is my interpretation of it! DD has this thing about these rocking horse thingy's at parks, even from an early age, this was at the airport in Spain on her first holiday in 2005!

Busy little bee today!

Been busy today, did these three layouts, these first two make up a double layout in my Charley's book! They were taken a week or two after Easter when she did her egg hunt in Granny's garden as the weather was soooooo terrible Easter weekend!

This one is of her in her Easter Dress which she absolutely loves and would wear every day if she could!

These were all made using Scenic Route Lynden papers, which I got from my fellow Fruitloop, Jo at Scrappydos. Love these papers and chipboard shapes, the ribbons are some american crafts ribbons.

This is the fabby stash that Claire sent me! I love all of it and Claire you will notice that I have used some of the flowers on my layouts above, they were perfect colours for the lynden papers! Got some paints on order so that I can Jazz up my letter J, thank you once again Claire!

We spent this afternoon at the park as it was really lovely sunshine - would be bearing in mind that we go back to work tomorrow!

I didnt decorate a pen it ws uselsss attempting to so bought one but did alter a little notebok, then there was hot chocolate, archers and a box of bits and bobs like brads, chipboard and flowers as well as ribbons and papers!

Friday, 18 April 2008

It came!

My cyber crop goody box arrived this morning whilst I was out shopping, Hooray! Look at thar paper, so glittery and glimmery, sooooo special! and made with care and attention to detail, thank you sooo much Kelley! I just love the bx alone!
It was brimming!

It was all wrapped soooooo cutely I had to photgraph it and everything had a little label with some kind of cryptic clue as to what was inside it!

So what was inside you ask, loads and loads, including a little pressie for Charlotte which isnt pictured as she hadnt opened it when I took pics! Just get an eyeful of this!!!!

There were some fab nivea products, honey roasted nuts(mmmmm), Werthers originals (my fav!) dark chocolate (notice how I started with the food!, blingy bits, a pen, paperchase journalling book, nail file, nail varnish, sticky bits and lots of other little cool bits, I love it and was soooooo excited with it.

My goodies from my team swap arrived today as well, will take a piccie later, Claire sent far more the £5.00 we were meant to, so now Im going to have a look and see what else I can find for her!

Thursday, 17 April 2008

Worms, worms everywhere!

We went to the allotment with grandme today and Charley did her usual worm hunt! The she named them all with names like Betsy, Cheesey and george! Kids huh!

Wednesday, 16 April 2008

Life gets easier!!!

Fab morning this morning! Steve took the day off from decorating and we took Charley to Fizzy Kids, this was the first time neither me or Steve has had to follow her around she played really nicely with a couple of little kiddies and not a bite in sight! (for those of you who know me, this is a real hurdle we have overcome, for those that dont, biting has been an issue since about 18 months with Charley, so there is light at the end of the tunnel for us and Im so happy!)

My gorgeous new scrapagogo kit arrived and I love it, pinks in it so thats the best for me, got the add ons this month as well which were lovely, the sequin flowers are beautiful, but the nest bit was the journalling notebook from Making Memories, its lush and I cant wait to get using it on layouts!!! I feel some scrapping coming on!

Finished my goody bag for the UKS swap and have packed up my team mate CLaires goodies for the team swap too, so tomorrow its off the Post Office for me! Then we are off to Grandmas allotment to help plant some veggies!

Right bed is calling my little madam! So toodlepip, Cherio and i'll be back soon!

Tuesday, 15 April 2008

Hooray, Ive got the rest of the week off!

I did my last afternoon at kids club this afternoon till next week, booked myself the rest of the week off so I can relax and chill before heading back to work next week. Need to get myself into gear and do some work on my dissertation as the date is only a month away!!!!

Charley got a new kitchen for her bedroom today, she was given one last year but its sooooo huge I had to buy a smaller one, its only an argos cheapy but will do the job for the next year or so!

Finished my goody bag except the silly pen! Im not sure that I know what to do with it so Ive bought a predecorated one as a cheat just in case!!!

Right off to apply for a new job, wish me luck the closing date is today!

Saturday, 12 April 2008

Shop til you drop!

Been shopping for the UKS cyber crop today, found it really hard although my swappee has written what she likes in her profile, from the pics in her gallery its quite obvious that she uses mainly die cut stuff (on an electronic die cutter) so it didnt give me any clues, and there is nothing in her profiles about smellies/body products she might use so Ive guessed and have to hope that she likes them! Just got to wrap them all up, decorate my little bear and finish the bag off. I am hoping she likes the altered notebook I have made for her, its been great fun doing this!

Bought Charley her space hopper today she has been wanting one for ages (I can't wait either) keep remembering the holiday we went on as kids to Pontins where we had space hopper races at the evening disco every night! Those were the days!

I have done a double layout this morning and last night using Rhonna Farrarr papers, they were fromt he Scrapping Angels January Kit and very lush! Well I love them, just have some journalling to put on obe of them but cant find the little journalling spots I bought the other week on etsy!

Right I need to complete the weekly challenge for UKS and get on with my Docrafts CJ so no rest for the wicked is there!

Crop-a-dile

Over on the Docrafts blog they are asking for comments on the crop-a-dile. I love mine so much so I also now have the Crop-a-dile 2 big bite! I have the lilac version which matches my craft tote and trolley so that's always a good start. I find it very easy to use and mine came with a handy storage case which holds eyelets which is fab!

It cuts though almost anything and Ive made some fab ribbon storage with mine. The downside is that it can only set and make holes up to just over an inch into a page hence the purchase of the Crop-a-dile 2 big bite which makes holes up to 6 inches into a page, so right into the centre of my 12x12 layouts! I love it and would not be without it!

Wednesday, 9 April 2008

Feeling Guilty!

One of my teamies from UKS made me feel a bit guilty today about the amount of 12x12 I have, I have over 4 pm carriers of paper and at a rough guess Id say over 1500 sheets of paper and I still continue to buy more! Ill photograph it later, the worst thing is that I hardly use any of it, I always go buying more and more, take today for instance, my order from angel crafts arrived and yep, there was more paper in that! But its soooooo cute, its by Heidi Grace and its called a little birds tale, so that says it all really doesnt it!

So should I feel guilty I ask myself, we I suppose yes, when I tot up how much stash I have it is really rather worrying, so I think that I seriously need to go and use some of it up on layouts, so off I pop! Toodle pip!

Monday, 7 April 2008

Two postings in one day!

Just updating my latest addition to my blog for Charlotte's scrapbook, with my march scrapagogo kit!

Settling down

Well our hall is almost a very bright shade of yellow, I think Steve will try and finish it tonight, I hate the colour now its on the walls but can't tell him!!!

Did a layout in superquick timing today, ill upload later. Im really pleased with it as it uses my least favourite colour - BROWN - YUCK!!! It acutally looks quite cool though! I used my march scrapagogo kit which I thought that I was never ever gonna use as its all browns, mustardy yellows etc using lots of the K&Co wild saffron and some scenic route papers. Im pleased with the way it turned out though and am going to start another brown layout later!!!

Charley is beginning to settle down at pre school with other children now - fingers crossed and the biting for the moment has slowed right down, I can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel, she is much better behaved at home but Im dreading the next 2 weeks of school holidays and cant wait for 25th April when school starts again!!! Shoudlnt wish life away but I hate school holidays!

Sunday, 6 April 2008

Snowing!!!

Was woken up this morning to the shrieks of 'its snowing, its snowing, its snowing!' and there it was 2 inches deep! So it was up, bath, dress and breakfast before breaking loose into the street to make our snowman which I will upload piccies of later!

No we are at home int he warm watching a dvd and believe me thats the best place for us at the minute! I hate the cold, well who doesnt!

Friday, 4 April 2008

Circle Journal is doing its rounds!!!

my Circle Journal!

My cj for the newbie UKS cj's is on its way, I loved working on this little book, two scoops is soooooooooo yummy I love it to bits, now I want to buy more, but Im not going to, I have just ordered the UKS musical melodies mystery kit and joined the goody bag swap too so Im going to be busy over the new few weeks getting organised for that!

My team on UKS (the Fruitloops!) are also having a mini swap of all our old stash, we have to decide on what we think is roughly £5.00 and send that off to a fellow loopie and a parcel will be sent in return, only problem is if I dont want my stuff will they really want it!!!!! We shall see!

Wednesday, 2 April 2008

Done and dusted

Why does the sun always shine when I have to work!

How comes the weather over easter was so awful and now Im back at work its lovely sunny weather! No doubt next week will be glorious when Im running the playscheme and the week after will be terrible cos Ive booked the week off.

Quite pleased with myself over the weekend, made good headway with my assignment and managed to finish an easter mini book - with dull grey piccies in as the weather was so bad! and also managed to get three other layouts done for my a-z of me, havent managed to upload them as i cant find the thing you put the photo card into to (full of technical jargon me arent i? they thingy you put the thingy into!!!)

Right off to polish my assignment off and hopefully then can lay it to rest early this evening as Im soooooooooooooooooooooooooo fed up with it, I only have to pass, i only have to pass, 41%, 41% will do! If I keep saying it I may convince myself that I will pass!!!

Saturday, 29 March 2008

Cinema on saturday

We popped off to see 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' this morning, leaving daddy at home decorating! It was actually quite good for a kids film, I have to say and Charlotte enjoyed it.

Well its nose to the grindstone again today with my assignment, so will try and blog more later!
Toodlepip for now!

Friday, 28 March 2008

Stumped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My last uni assignment is due a week today, arghhhhhhhhhhhhh, panic, panic, arghhhhhhhhhhhhh! Im not doing well with it at all, I just don't get it!!!!

I have to discuss how management theories relate to early years and I just can't do it, I don't have the theories established in my head enough to be able to write constructively! Oh well I guess I only need 41% to pass, and thats all I will do on this one!!!

Right nose to the grindstone and all, I'd better get on with it and see how I do!

Sunday, 23 March 2008

Cold, wet, snowy easter day!

Happy Easter Everyone!
Hmmmm that didnt last long did it???

We were woken up very early this morning from the shouts of 'He's been, he's been, the easter bunnys been!' And so he had, leaving a little maltesers egg beside dd's bed and some rather quickly cut out bunny shaped feet (well i think they are bunny shaped!) he had also left some from the front door to the back door in anticipation of an easter egg hunt, however snow soon put a stop to that!
Our bunny prints!
Anyhow several easter eggs and lindt bunnies later dd is in bed! im chillin on here and dh is decorating! I have my priorities right, surfing and chilling! Might even crack open a bottle of wine!

Sunday, 16 March 2008

Sunday sun - where has it gone!

Surprise, surprise its raining again today, happy sunny sunday! I decided that as its been so grey and grim today I'd scrap a sunny layout, this pic was taken in southsea when we went on a family picnic. I used Scenic Route Lynden Papers and American Crafts Thickers.

Steve has the decorating bug and we spent this afternoon in the DIY stores looking for paint, new doors and carpets, bought a few bits and Steve is now priming the lobby, it will be great when the house is finished! We only moved in four years ago!!!

Saturday, 15 March 2008

The weekend is here again!

Yesterday my Scrapagogo kit arrived Im sooooo excited, it looks so lovely, totally not my style at all with lots of browns, mustards and greens in it which are colours I would never dream of using or buying for that matter, but the whole point of sunscribing to a kit is that you are out of your comfort zone! Heres a piccie of whats in it: Scenic route papers, K&Co Wild Saffron, bazzill cardstock and loads of other bits and bobs!

We went to Jongleurs last night and it was brill all three acts were great! Had us in stitches. As we were leaving we were given a card to let us get 20 free tickets for next friday, no chance in going though as we have no babysitter, what a bummer!!!!

Have done a layout this morning of Charlotte using the Basic Grey Two Scoops, which ae a very delicious set of papers in my sort of colourways! Very cute and girly styles! The layout uses the neopolitan paper, the monograms, the elements stickers as well as the glazed brads along with some pretty pastel pink and lemon ribbons. The piccie is of Charley on her first spanish holiday at about 5 months old, we love the dress she was in its so old fashioned with its smocking but very pretty!

Steve is getting into the mood for decorating which is great we've been in the house for four years and not done much now so were off to look at some paint colours and floor coverings for the hallway as that really does look bad, then the study needs doing next I feel! Right off to shop for paper and paints for the walls so will love you all and leave you! Enjoy the rest of your saturday!

Monday, 10 March 2008

Monday morning

The wind is howling, the rain is pooring, but happy monday! I love it when it rains in the mornings especially when its a work morning! The kids go in early and I go home early - Im a Kids Club supervisor so I drop the kids at school after giving them breakfast!

We had a good weekend, went swimming yesterday with Charlotte, she howled when it was time to get out of the pool bless her, she really didnt want to.

I did the UKS challenge again this week.

This weeks challenge was entitled : REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE

Use Sketch (Impromptu Scrap 10.30 est)

10ptsUse Recycled (scraps, magpie items, etc.,) 10pts

Use Green 5 pts

Nature Inspired 5 pts

Ok, so used the sketch, the little fishy charm was on an atc that was damaged in the post so Ive reused it! Lots of green with bazzill cardstock and K&Co Amy Butler papers and of course the seaside is def nature, so I claimed my 30 points for my team which I am really pleased about. The next challenge is out so Im off to look at that.

Before I go, I have lost another 3lbs this week so that puts me at 7lb in total over the last 2 weeks! Hooray Im getting there, just got to try and keep up the good work.

Friday, 7 March 2008

Exciting deliveries

Ohhhh I just love getting stuff through the post. I got my back pay this month andhave spent a little of it on cafty bits! The first were from an etsy shop called Every Jot and Tittle Have a look, there is some great things in the shop. These labels and journal spots are delicious.

I also ordered the qvc foam american thickers (586141) as they were such good value, they were about £16.50 for 12 packs, couldnt have asked for better value. The final things that arrived were my 7 Gypsies stamps from www.craft-emporium.co.uk I am just getting into putting journalling on my pages and these little stamps are perfect!

So the futures bright, the futures scrapping! Im looking forward to getting down to some serios scrapping over the next few weeks, I guess really that I should be doing my uni assignment but heyho! thats life.

Heard from my friend Jo yesterday, she ahs moved to Nottingham, I can't remember the last time we emailed but it must have been years ago! Anyway after several e-mails we have begun to catch up on each others lives and hopefully we can meet up soon!

This is my first swap so Im really looking forward to completing it! Just waiting for my scrapagogo kit to arrive later this month and Ill be a happy bunny, might help me get my inspiration back.

Going to challenge myself to complete a pencilines sketch ths week, I dont normally use sketches very much but figure it might help me out.

Day 3

Didn't get a chance to blog yesterday it was one of those days. This month hasnt been a good month for sscrapping, Ive done hardly any at all! I seem to have really lost the will too, despite all the little bits and bobs of new stash I have got!

Healthy eating plan is going to plan Ive eaten loads of fruit and veg over the last few days, my poor body is going into shock with it all! But it is nice to feel that Ive not stuffed myself silly all day with rubbish.

Were off to Steve's mums on friday so will try and make sure that I post tomorrow, I have been keeping my personal journal up to date too, must post a pic of that later, I must also post the pic of Steve's mums mothers day card too. Charlotte has made the Nannies cards and tomorrow we are going to bake some cakes to take with us. So I guess that most of tomorrow will be spent getting packed and ready to go! Oh I get all the fun jobs. Still she is very excited about us coming up and its only one night!

Here's to making a change!

So the start of something new happens today, Im looking foward to changing my lifestyle and eating habits, so started the day with fruit and wholemeal toast at work, my kids said, 'Joanne, what are you doing with that' pointing at the fruit on my plate! my response was 'Get used to it in the mornings I will be eating lots more of it' The looks that I got were hilarious!!!

Making a change isnt just about loosing weight its about changing my lifestyle too, getting some excercise and thinking more positively. So on a positive note, whats good in my life at the moment:

1 My home, its lovely, its big but full of stuff

2 My husband and my daughter, both so precious and unique

3 My crafting, without my scrapping I wouldnt have a release so Im pleased that I have the opportunities to do this.

4 The sunshine, not something I can control but so lovely when its sunny and bright outside.

5 A fanatstic family, parents who help ou with childcare and finance when needed and great grandparents who too help out where they can.

6 My work, its fun, interesting and worthwhile.

7 My CD player, the world is such a happy place with a bit of music

So they are some of the good things that are in my life

Housework is started, floors up and down have been washed and hoovered, the kitchen tops are all cleaned off and tidy and just about to start the lounge. I started journalling my journey last night, Steve thinks its all one big joke, but that just about sums him up. So I am off to start changing the beds upstairs and get the rooms tidier.

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday to you all, the weekend is well and truely in swing and this morning we have been to the garden centre, not to buy plants but to see the animals and fishes, both Notcutts and Wyevale have been tormented by Charlotte who seems to be in a whirlwind of a mood. Rabbits stroked, birds screamed at and fish tanks banged we left after just a short time!

At home Charlotte made sandwiches for everyone, and very tasty they were too, Im beggin her to go to sleep so that I can go to M&S to get a new pair of casual trousers as mine have holes in them they are sooooooo old!

Had a bit of a wake up call yesterday, another relly died and my brothers mate who is several years younger than me is back in hospital. Its made me think that its about time I stopped
whinging about how much weight Ive put on since having Charley and got on with doing something about it. So.... diet properly starts tomorrow, no more convenience foods, no more snacking between meals and lots more fruit and veg. I also must start walking again and mum has put my name down with her to do the race for life so I now have no excuse for getting in shape. I seriously need to as I have really let myself go since having charlotte, I have no confidence in myself and feel depressed and fed up all the time. So, tomorrow sees the start of positive change in my life. I need to get on a take life by the hand as my blog says and look for the positives in everything, as well as changing my lifestyle and eating habits. Wish me luck, I'm going to pick up a notebook whilst I am out so I can journal my sucesses and my low points. It willgive me something to look back on when I have lost the weight, got used to excercising and fel ethusiastic about life again!

Ill upload a pic later when I have done it!

Weekend ramblings!

The weekend is here and I can't wait to get back to work!!!! Roll on monday.

Spent yesterday in the kitchen baking, Charlotte made cupcakes and I made a victoria sandwich and some scones, yum!

We've done the weekly shop already at Tescos this morning and Steve treated us to a breakkie there which of course being Tesco's cafe and excedingly slow at serving was cold by the time we got it to the table!!! Never mind, Im used o to cold food since having Charlotte, so that is the norm for me!

Were off to feed the ducks in a bit, which is our weekend ritual, I made sure that I bought loads of cheap bread this week ready for the feeding! though Im not sure whether Charlotte or the ducks get more bread!

Had a go at the UKS challenge this week again! Bagged 30 points for my team. We had to use the following on our layouts to gain the points:

Song title from sound track of Saturday Night Fever or Grease as LO title - 10pts
Two photos - 10pts
Something shiney - 5pts
To use white on LO - 5pts

So I used 2 pics of Charley, one when she was 3 months old and the second was at 3 years old!,, Used the title 'Those magic changes' from Grease. SOmething shiney was the silver brads in the centre of the flower and also the glittery 'Magic' word and the white were the backings of the photo's and my cherryatre swirls that I have been staring and touching lots but not used since I bought them months ago!!! SO there you go thats my take, the papers are Brenda Pinnick, everyone on docrafts raves about her paper, but to be honest Im not in love with it, IM looking forward to using it all up!!!! Sorry Brenda!

Lost my scrapping mojo

I can't seem to get the momentum up to do any scrapping, been sorting through some pics from my mums but just can't find anything that inspires me! Most of my graduation pics are missing and there seem to be no negatives for any of the pics at all which is really dissapointing. Ive put some pages into my mums mothers day album along with the pic's that go with them, but can't muster the enthusiasm.

I've done several orders online but none have arrived which also disappoints me, only had one email to say one is on its way and my artymiss order from 8th Feb still hasnt arrived, they never respond to emails and Im totally fed up with it.

Spent today cleaning, tidying and sorting.

Ive sorted and put away all the ironing I did tuesday evening
Tidied up my crafting stuff in the spare room
Tidied Charlottes room and put all her dolly stuff up there from the garage
Tidied the boxes of Charley toys in the garage
Hung out a load of washing which isnt drying very well
Cleaned the downstairs cloakoom
Found about a million dummies hiding all around the house
Emptied all the bins
Re-loaded the washing machine and dishwasher

and the house still looks a pigsty, Charlotte decided that she didnt want her lunch so chucked it all over the lounge floor, great I love cleaning!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Roll on nap time!!!!!!!!!!!

We have the disney film Cars on at the moment, I havent watched it from beginning to end yet everytime we put it on she gets bored halfway through! Right am off to try and get her into bed then will upload some pics onto previous posts on the blog as I have worked out how to do it now with my new camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Half Term is here at last

Well school hols are upon us again, this will be the last one that I work so am going to try and enjoy it! Charlotte is well into holiday mode and waking up after about 7.30am which is late for her trust me!

I'm going to try and get some scrapping done this week, get some points for my UKScrappers team, Fruitloops!, I'm still waiting for my sickly laptop to be fixed so still can't post pics of what I've been up to recently which is a shame. I'm about to start a mini album for my mum for mothers day so will pop down to dad's later and pick up some pics of her with us kids!!! Horrible clothing memories spring to mind when I think of some of the hideous outfits I wore when I was little, but should be good for a laugh! Hope some of my papers go with the pics as Im on a stash diet from saturday.

I have far too much stash and really must start using it, I spent a fortune in the Jan sales! One treat will be my craft robo though, when I get my back pay at the end of this month, this is my little treat and I can't wait to order it! Am going to place just 2 more orders before I go on my stash diet on saturday as I want some Basic Grey papers - the two scoops range is gorgeous and I also want some Elsie papers too. I have signed up to the scrapagogo kits from March so that will be the stash I am allowed each month along with adhesives which are a basic requirement as any crafter will know although I am stocked up on tape runners, ds tape and sticky dots/sheets so should be fine for a while with those too.

The weekend was supposed to be great, it was only semi great! Charlotte decided to smear a pot of sudocreme all over the bedroom carpet, completely my fault as I had left it on the floor, she was trying to put it on her 'hurts' and make them better (bless her) Steve was not impressed at all and had a complete strop about it, but after a good 2.5hours of scrubbing, vaxing and washing it was almost all out. Charlotte wont be doing that anymore trust me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sudocreme incident over, Charlotte spent the night with Granny and Grandad while steve and I had dinner at Cinnamon Bay, a fab indian in Yateley, which we always have excellent food from. We cracked open a bottle of champagne (left from our wedding 3 years ago, we ended up with about 12 bottles!) and watched Atonement, which was really good.

Sunday was duck feeding time again! We do this every week, you would think we would get bored of it really. Charley enjoyed the playpark although Im not sure that a slide covered in frost is my idea of fun!

Did do the UKScrappers challenge though finally! Theme love/hate, Include the colour red or pink, Use a heart on your layout, As cupid uses a bow and arrow- use an arrow or arrows and finally a romantic quote or a love song title on your layout. I managed to claim 25 points for my team the Fruitloops!

Feb week 2 UKS challenge!

Right off to find some piccies at mums...

That Friday feeling

Steves valentines cards I made for him!
Today is one of those days when you wish you could sleep all day. Its been a long and tiring week. One monday I found out that the Kids club I work at will be closing its doors after half term to holiday club so only term time will continue to run. The found out yesterday that there would be a 3 month review to decide what would happen to the term time club. Sounds like everything is falling apart.

Had a call at 8.05am to tell me that a staff member hadn't turned up so had to rush into work to cover till she arrived, then back home for the housework and pick Charlotte up at 11.30am. In and out, in and out, in and out, I am now finally sitting down!

I finished Steve's mini book for valentines day and he was really pleased with it (as I was too) it was mainly pics of just him and me and things we had done together so it was nice!

Haven't done the challenge yet on UKS this week, it didnt reall appeal to me too much, it was a love/hate theme and although I have done loads of love pages I dont like to use too much pink or red in my layouts when I can use another colour. Didnt do Katys DoCrafts challenge either cos that was another love theme challenge!

Anyhow, looking forward to the weekend and some peace while Granny has Charlotte to stay and am desperate for the endof the month when I get my back pay - CRAFTROBO here I come!!!

The pick above is Steves Valentines cards I made him, the idea came from the Canny Crafter un UKS for the husband heart card! Thank you!

Preparing for valentines day

Well its 10 days away and Steve and I have set a challenge for each other. Last year we bought a set of 3 boxes one heart shaped, and 2 rectangular ones - Ill post a pic at some point of them. We both have £10 to fill all three and cant go over it!!!!

No idea yet whats going in it, but I'll work that out! I'm in the middle of making his card which again I'll post in a couple of days until then its top secret!!! An idea I got from the canny crafter!

The weeks fly by!!!

Can't believe the last time I logged in was about 2 weeks ago! I have finished my college assignment, finally and thankfully, just go the presentation to do next week for it.

Have done a few layouts these past few weeks but not that many considering the speed I was turning them out before xmas! Steve treated me to some yummy papers last month and I have used them for two layouts, one of me and Charley and one of steve and Charley, both taken at her naming ceremony. The ones with steve and Charley in are K&Co papers from the wedding collection, which are sooooo pretty and work really well with the colour of his shirt. Im really pleased with both of the pages.

Im about to start work on some bowling pages from Charlottes birthday, I took loads including one of her feet wearing the bowling shoes which look sooooooooo cute, will post it when i get a chance.

Ive ordered a Scrapping Angels monthly kit this week and am hoping it arrives very soon, I figured that this was a good way to take me out of my comfort zone and make me try new products that I would never normally buy, will post pics when it comes, its only a small kit, here is the link http://www.scrappingangels.co.uk/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=222&products_id=1556 but looks like it could be fun to use.
Right, work calls will try and blog again tomorrow.

Saturdays delights!!!!

We lazed about this morning doing nothing which was great, popped off to Fizzy Kids for some fun in the ball pool and had lunch. Charlotte is giving up her lunchtime sleeps which is hard on all of use, especially me as Im used to my break during the day where I catch up on chores and sleep, but she was down nice and early at 6.50pm, just have to see what time she wakes tomorrow.

Crafting hasnt happened today, although I have got a new book, 'The Amazing 650 scrapbook page ideas, tips and techniques, of which there are some lovely ideas, I just can't wait to get started on. Crafting is taking a backseat at the minute as I am really bogged down with a college assignment which I am finding very boring!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah well, only another 7 months and I should have my degree!

Right off to do some more studying.

Been and Gone

Well Christmas has been and gone since my last posting, all that time effort and money has been spent and now we are back in the real world and back at work.

Ive done some scrapping over Christmas but not huge amounts - will post some picks later! Charlotte had a lovely day and New Year was nice too, we went to Woking Theatre to see 'Peter Pan' as our special treat then went down to the Bowls Club with my parents to see in the New Year, Charlotte stayed up to see the new year in and after seeing in the new year, happy birthday was also sung to my mum!!!! A new year babe was she!

My aim this year is to scrap the year, not every day but to pick out activities that happen in the year each month and create a scrapbook of pages from them. January will be a new year page as most of the family were about and also Charlotte's birthday which is now up and coming!!!! More money!!!

Then I will take it day by day and see what happens.

We spent lots of Christmas with family seeing Steves side early in December. We spent Christmas eve with my brother and his wife, becoming the blue bin fairies to our next door neighbours on Christmas eve (long story, but very funny!) Christmas day was our day as a fimly together, we popped down to my mums for a short time, but spent the main bulk of the day at home together. Boxing day was at my mums andthe day after boxing day we went off to Steve's sister Sue, it was a great day! The rest of the week we just chilled out at home.

Now Im panicking as I have an assignment to complete over the next week and not a clue about what I am going to do! Mum and Dad are taking Charlotte to the Panto in Camberley - Cinderella I think!- today so I have a few hours to get going on it and work out what I am going to do. Has to be completed by Friday next week then I hjave to put together a seminar presentation on it!!! I cant wait for this course to be over!!! No more studying for me then, well not for a while anyhow!!! unless its crafting courses.

Feeling Yuck!

Am feeling really rough today, started last night with a tummy bug and has continued on into today. Didnt do very much scrapping today, but did get all the garlands up, Charley's bike built and the washing basket emptied - alls to to with that is the ironing now!!!!

We went to the local tescos this morning, and wished we hadnt, when we eventually found a space we had to battle through about a million people just to get a loaf of bread!!! The shops are only closed for one day, why do we go soooooo mad????

Ive onle page left in my mum's book to do and I almost know what I am going to do for it, just got to get around to it!!!

Well am signing off for today as Im still feeling rough so will hopefully blog tomorrow when Im feeling better!

3 Days and counting!!!

Last night I had a fab scrapping session, Charley was in bed by 7pm and Steve was out with his work mates. I managed to get six pages completed of my mums scrapbook and another complete to the title which I am just hand cutting now.

I was up early this morning and have completed one more page also of Charlotte's Naming Day, its using Anna Griffin papers, which I absolutely love, Steve was wearing a turquoise green shirt and I have used the same colour backing papers which looks really good.

We are off out with my brother, his girlfriend and her mum for lunch today, so that should be nice, Ive not really met her mum much so will be nice to see her, she is also a crafter, but mainly card making so we have something in common.

Ive packed all Charlotte's calenders into envelopes and have just the family Xmas pressies to wrap so am going to try and get them all done today. I'm also going to try and get the ironing and washing sorted out so that there are no more bits before Xmas to do after Sunday. We shall see.

My hall carpet is covered in glitter and no matter how hard I hoover it wont disappear, Charlotte had a great time making glitter pictures though so I cant complain.

Right off to finish that page I started last night, only six more to go!!!!!

Thursday, 20 December 2007

Four more crafting days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only four more days to go till my mum's book needs finishing, OMG!!!! Ive still got 15 pages to go, were do I start, perhaps I shouldnt be on here!!!

Went for a very nice lunch with the girly's from work, at the local chinese as our christmas meal. Really enjoyed it actually and off out for lunch again tomorrow with my brothers girlfriend. This has to be the most Ive been out in a week for a long time, who cares Im enjoying myself!!!

Did my xmas food shopping yesterday and picked up the last remaining bits today, Im not planning on visiting the shops again till almost new year if I can help it!

Sent the last of the xmas cards first class and my last internet ordered pressies have been delivered so now apart from my scrapping I feel ready. Its our first xmas day at home on our own, we usually spend it with my parents but felt this year it would be nicer for us to be at home therefore boxing day will be spent with my mum, Im not sure how much I want to be doing all the cooking on xmas day but Ill give it a go, roast turkey and beef, stuffing and sausage and bacon rolls, sprouts (not for me though!) carrots, roasties and peas (again not for me, dont do green veg!) Followed by christmas pud with custard and cream and mince pies, coffee after dinner mints and then probably more chocolate mints and mince pies. Christmas day really is a day for feeling huge and fat, but I love it.

Well Im off to scrap and get some more of this book done or Ill be in trouble xmas day!!!

Christmas is nearly here!!!!!!

Well only another six days and the big day is here, all these preparations will be finished and by this time the lounge floor will be a hash of ribbons, bows, tags and paper wth a few discarded bits of broken toys I am sure.

The past few weeks have been a real blur, we've done school christmas fetes, been to London to visit Santa at Harrods (I'll add my scrapping page later!) shopped till we have dropped and now its scrapbook city time. Ive done Mother in Laws album and she has had that and lived it (we had an early xmas at the beginning of december which is her final visit for this year) when she opened it and was delighted. Later in the day, all the family arrived and she was nervously watching as it was passed from person to person to look at saying 'I think we should put it away, we wouldnt want to ruin it!' Bless her, at least it made her smile and she couldnt wait to get home and show it off.

My Nan's mini pocket book is made, I used the good old Brenda Pinnick pocket page album and was really pleased with the results. So now its time for my parents album which is proving a little harder than I thought that it would! Ive only done 4 out of 20 pages and I am pleased with the results so far, but quickly counting that there are only 4 more making days to xmas Im a bit worried that I have taken on more than I can chew!!! However I will get it done, by hook or by crook!

So thats pretty much whats been going on in the last few weeks. Off to scrap some more pages. Ive added lots to my docrafts gallery over the past few days including xmas card - I havent sent one shop bought card this year, Im sooooo proud of myself and even have a few left ready for next year!!!

Monday, 5 November 2007

Been Busy again with my Brenda Pinnick kit and Charley has been bisy being creative also!!! I am really trying hard to get my dissertation finished in time for the 21st November along with my drama and momvement assignment, but my new Brenda Pinnick kit arrived this week and I just cant resist having a play, Ive also got my DCWV Once Upon a Time kit which is also very irrisitable and I have already had a play with that as the pages are so easy and tell a tale within themselves! As you can see from the Happily ever after page and the Views over Mijas. I am really enjoying this kit as it has soooooo many uses.
Besides that we have had halloween and Charley dressed up as a witch, our piccies from that arent very good but Im going to try and scrap a few over the next few days so will post the results. Its Fireworks this evening so no doubt Ill have a few pics from tonight to scrap soon too.

What do I love?

1. My daughter and my husband - being a family is soooooo important to me and now we are a family its great, don't get me wrong we were still a family when there were two of us, but three makes us complete!

2. All My family, without my family things wouldnt be the same there wouldnt be anyone to share all the little joys with, like the box of cereal Charley tipped on the floor, or the tears we shared at Nans funeral, or the family christmases spent fighting at the dinner table and arguing because we wanted our presents before dinner.

3. My crafting, I couldnt live without it, its so all consuming and individual.

4. Spring, I love the new life that begins, daffodils poking through the ground, bright mornings, easter egg hunts - just a beautiful time of year.

5. My car, Id be lost without it!

They are some of my favourite things that all go together to make life the magical time that it is!

(Projects from the Brenda Pinnick Kit, the first 2 are from a pocket page album which is really cute and the third is a 12x12 layout.)

I spent yesterday finishing my household chores, well ther are a few still not *quite* finished but I NEED to do something creative or I will go mad. I am going to create some Penny Black cards and ATCs today with my new stamps which is going to be so fun...I will try to take some photos but my I can't find my battery charger for my camera, those pesky little camera fairies must have borrowed it, either that or Ive just put it somewhere very safe (too safe even for me!)

After a very busy problematic week at work I finally got a day off and Charley and I have a very cheap trip into Woking to the shops. When I say cheap thats because I didnt buy anything however I needed to get a bank loan to pay for the car parking - £1.80 for two hours, what do they line these car parks with gold dust!!!

Got a new kit through the other day, Once upon a Time kit from QVC item number 585611 and its soooooo lovely! Ive done a page (cant photograph it of course!) and am really pleased with it, caught my 2 1/2 year old sat in my spare room stroking the pages of it going oooooo and ahhhhhhh she loved it!!!

My big treat this week was ordering the Brenda Pinnick 2 christmas Albums which has a fabulous amount of Paper,Cards, Die-cuts,Chipboard Stickers & Embellishments Item Number: 585966 I got the crafters delight one which is the everyday kit about 2 months ago when it came back into stock from a tsv, it is a fabulous kit and Ive popped up some projects that I already have pictures for so am just waiting for this to arrive and Ill be the happiest bunny alive.

This kit has caused absolute mayhem on the docrafts website, so if you get a chance take a look at it fantastic for inspiration or just a chat with fellow crafters! http://www.docrafts.co.uk/

Wednesday, 10 October 2007

Well what a week we have had, Ive been up to my eyeballs in my disseration but am beginning to make good headway with it and thats all good, due in on 21st November along with another uni assigment which will be tough!

Ive joined the world of atc's these past few weeks and am having so much fun swapping with people, because of the strike I now have 22 to post out to people, so many, will try and post a few up on here later so you can see what Im up too. I now have 28 that Ive swapped with others.

The weekend was spent at the shops and doing exciting things like housework and washing!!!! I must be mad though because at 6am this morning, where was I, in the garage doing the ironing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Charley has now settled well into preschool and this morning ran in before i could even say goodbye, thank goodness! We do make sure that every time she goes in she takes something to do with the theme which does seem to make it much easier. This morning our woolly clown (which she wouldnt carry because she doesnt like it!!) went with us plus some tigers and elephants - yes its the circus this week! In return I got a huge pile of paintings and stickings, what will I do with them all!
